My e-mail account was hacked - what to do?

I started getting all kinds of 'bounced message' emails and a friend said she got something that appeared to be from me to her work account which had labeled it "malicious". I changed my e-mail password. All my passwords are different for other online accounts so not too worried about that. Is there anything else I should do?
