I was always a dog person until a stray cat showed up a few years ago. It was rainy and chilly and of course I took food to her all while my husband was saying "You know she isn't going to leave if you feed her". Well that was March, by summer she was our porch cat, and by winter she was in the house letting us live with her. Best cat there was. Loved a reclining human, especially my husband when he snoozed in the recliner. She was always on his lap. Sadly, we lost her several years ago. I said no more animals. Well my boss's wife found a stray and I came in the office one day to find a cat carrier on my desk and this little 4 lb cat looking at me meowing. She is now "the Queen". Afraid of her own shadow, won't get on a lap to save her life. When she hears someone come in the door she tears down the stairs and dives under the couch. She is a hairy, 4 footed doorbell. But she is all ours.
