The professionals are yakking about El Ninjo. It IS on its way. All I know for sure is that it's bone chilling cold here. The cold here in Northern CA feels colder than the Pennsylvania Snow Belt where I used to live. Guess the ocean wind causes that.

More bad news about the canals that transport water from N. Cal to S. Cal. Seems there are parts of it that are sinking and going to cost billions of dollars to repair.

@onewhiteSparrow @HappyDaze I agree about the less to zero children is necessary. Not building more housing in undevloped areas. I think folks need to be determined to move into older neighborhoods, fix up a place, and turn things around for the better.
We had cold temps here today. No rain and things need to get some rainfall soon.

@Puzzle Piece, I don't like the idea to move into older neighborhood and fix up run down houses. Why put myself into a negative location?
Cold today, but sunny. Last winds took down a tree and another tree will be planted I think this week.

@onewhiteSparrow Sparrow, we also had a tree break in half and block the street - all from the strong winds.
All the yack at the graduation ceremonies from so many generations of high school grads, and university grads - on overcoming this and that being able to over come challenges, etc. Then they want to move into devlopments that are over built and using more land and resources. No courage to go into older areas and homes and turn them around for the better. It's all just a bunch of hooey on their parts.

@Puzzle Piece, The high winds a few weeks ago was recorded to be the strongest ever. When our tree went down it took the high line wire that was connected to the street light down. The tree fell across the street. Same as your street was blocked because the tree fell across the street.
The whole block and around the park street lights was taken down. When the line went down it took the nice pretty street light down laying across the street. Glass went everywhere. They already cemented into the ground a new pretty street light with pretty glass light. But the wires are not connected yet. Good thing everyone has lights all around their yards that keeps lights on all over the place.
Within a few minutes the Police was all around to stop people from driving over the hot wires laying down the street. People take their morning and afternoon walks around this area. If I am outside enjoying the cool morning sunshine, the walkers stop and visit all the time...friendly place.
We might live close to each other with those trees coming down at the same time because of the high winds? (smile) There was over 10 trees that went down that day in our area.
This morning temp is around 30 degrees. It will warm up later in the day.

@onewhiteSparrow Yes, we have 28-29 degrees out and it will get to 30 this morning. That's cold for us. I live in L.A. county. I've done my reasearch and the savior was born in the springtime, not the season we are spoon fed. I am not a xtian so I don't take offense when others do. It all works out for retailers as they really get the xmas bonuses.
