My Shoutout To My Local Chick-Fil-A

I know that there are people who never eat there.  However, once again, our local one is giving back to the community.

Every month, the owner of the franchise has special days where he gives away a free entree.  Usually a Tuesday or  Thursday is senior citizens day.  Also, if you take your dog(s) through the drive-thru, they get a free doggie box.

This week, he has give-aways for every day for Valentine's week.

There is a Chick-Fil-A near my art classes in the next state and when I asked for a doggie box, the manager looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language.  I had both Darcy and Happy with me and they got a small dog biscuit between them.

Our community supports our local one because he supports our community so well.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I've never eaten there because the nearest restaurant is over 100 miles away.

My Starbucks drive-thru line USED to hand out dog biscuits.

There was a large glass container w/ biscuits.

One day it wasn’t there...and I asked the barista why.

’It’s against Health Code’.

An Einstein Bros bagel shop (chain deli) had the exact same thing.

Doggie bagels at the register....but not anymore.

Who knows, maybe Texas is just cracking down on

non-human foods in restaurants.

Thank you, Texas.

Creeped me out thinking a kid could’ve eaten one of those things.

As for the special ‘Doggie Box’ at that particular Chick-fil-a?

Maybe the puzzled response will set forth the motions to

standardize & audit all the CFA franchises in the area and

doggie stuff won’t be available in the future.

Wow, you have a very involved Chick-fil-A  by you. I can see why people would want to go there. I love Chick-Fil-A but was sad when they discontinued the Carrot salad.

The only thing I have ever purchased there was their diet lemonade.  It is so good, I get cravings for it.

I do make lemonade at home from scratch like Chick.Fil-A does, but it is more convienent to go there.  Now I want some and it’s Sunday...they’re closed!

@dex, the doggie box has several pieces of the nuggets.

I also want to add that we have two get-together luncheons each year at my local YMCA.  Chick-Fil-A caters it, brings it to us, and adds a free dessert for everyone.  They even provide vegetarian wraps (not sure if that is on the regular menu).

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I LOVE Chick-fil-A!  We try to support them anytime we can.

They run a tight ship.

Clean, well organized, pleasant staff.

I appreciate that they are involved in the community and give back.

@piperbay- and the cole slaw.  WHAT were they thinking when they discontinued both of those.

I'm not a huge cole slaw lover, because I don't like mayonnaise, but theirs was great.  I bought it every year to serve at both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@sidsmom  I take it as you’re not a fan of dogs.  Many banks in my area give doggie treats at the drive up window.  I think it is quite common for many businesses to do this.

I don’t understand the Health Code issue as pet treats are not contaminated.  Many bakeries sell dog biscuits and they are right next to the human cookies.

I know dogs are not permitted to go into eating establishments, unless they are guide dogs, etc, but dog food products are not dirty or harmful to humans.  Most dog biscuits are plant based...no meat in them.

I occasionally dry sweet potatoes to give my dogs for a treat, and my grandkids will eat them before the dogs get a chance.
