This is a helpful article from Business Insider. A couple of suggestions are things l hadn't heard of, such as gargling with plain water at the first sign of symptoms... or taking ginger for nausea or upset stomach.
Here's the link to the article:

This was recommended to me by acupuncturist (also a Chinese herbalist)-

It is available in many formulas and by different brands. It is a long term formula, so it's something to take every day.

Thanks for the heads up O/P, also washing your hands and trying to stay clear of large crowds of people. Very interesting thanks again for the link letting us all know.

Hi, Lola - just exactly what does the Jade Windscreen do for the body?

I am taking vitamin d and extra c.We also eat healthy and add a tsp. Of mauka honey to our daily diet during flu season.I have eucalyptus oil scenting our home to kill bacteria in the air and we take sambuccas a few times a week.We have not been sick yet but the season isn't over and our news station said that it was ramping up again.I am afraid of this flu...just seems to be a killer.

'i don't know'...........It 'still' seems to me that placing a bit of coconut oil into our nostrils and keeping our mouths shut when in crowded rooms might help. Anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-'this and that'. Well, it would be a barrier of sort. 'One day' they'll finally figure it all out.
I haven't clicked onto the link, but I'll go directly later on today. Thank you!

Elderberry syrup
You can google the medicinal properties. Has been used for hundreds of years. Before there were pill mils.
I make my own with a recipe from Wellness Mama website, but you can also buy it. I find there is a lot of sugar in some brands, which is not necessary.
The one I make has elderberries, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and honey. Easy to make and it works so well. I take one tablespoon every day for the immune boosting benefits.
However, if I feel "something" coming on, a scratchy throat, a headache, just feeling meh, I take it 3 times a day. All the "who knows what I am coming down with" symptoms go away.
They are both an anti-viral and anti-bacteria (elderberries).
Along with the obvious deterents of hand washing, staying out of large crowds if you can, wiping things down more frequently, so far so good. (I probably just jyxed myself)
