I cannot imagine what you are going through at this time, along with the pain of such a loss of your "best everything and everyone". From our family to you, our thoughts are, and will be with you.

I'm now 75 yrs old - so 98 doesn't seem so old anymore. My grrandmother - and then my mother - used to say: Even if u live to 100, u die young. My mother died 34 yrs ago - we were the best mother/daughter duo --- and the BEST friends. Every day I talk to her and almost see her walking into my family room. My BEST friend Brenda (33 yr friendship) died this past January - she was only 61 yrs old. I miss her daily. We used to travel together (before she got married), talk about everything and nothing. It was just so comfortable. The lonliness never goes away -- but, in time, u need to keep busy but never forget the happy times u had. Sounds like u have GREAT memories.

@Perkup wrote:We knew it was coming, but you're never ready. He would have been 98 this week. A WWII veteran, entrepreneur, brilliant, kind, loving, generous to a fault, a complete life success in every way. There are no words to describe the loneliness I feel at this time. He was my best friend, my best love, the best companion, the best person I ever met. He is everywhere in our house, and yet nowhere. I feel completely empty and yet my heart is full of cherished memories. Prayers for us both appreciated.
(((@Perkup))). I'm so sorry to read about your husband's passing. Your best friend, your hero. My heart goes out to you and I post through tears, as I know others also have done. Your tender words of endearment in this loving tribute are magnificent and exquisitely poignant. I wish I had words to help, to comfort, something tangible I could do to somehow make things better. Please, let us know if we can offer support in the future, if you just want to come here and "talk." And remember to take good and gentle care of yourself as you walk this path.❤️
