Re: My Phone That Blocks Out Robo Calls Is Working Overtime

I like having one handset that's corded.  I live in an all electric home.  The electricity sometimes goes out.  In the past I'd have to hook up my old corded phone, now I don't have to.

If you have a corded phone and your electricity goes out that phone will work.  However, none of the handsets will work because you need electricity for them to charge.

You can add phones onto this system.  I'm so glad I was able to tell others about this magnificant phone.  People don't realize how frustrating it is to constantly get these stupid calls.  I haven't worked since my daughter was born (that's 43 years ago).  In that time I've seen those robo calls grow from 0 to as many as 4 or 5 in ONE DAY!

This has been an answer to my prayers.  You can also take them off if you accidentally block someone you don't want to block.  That block button is so easy to use even I was able to figure it out!  Ha!

I always see on here about unwanted calls. I guess we are lucky because we rarely get any unwanted calls. But when we do this is why we have caller ID and an answering machine. We solve the problem by simply not answering.

@Annabellethecat66~~~

@shell garden~~~

Thank you both for the information about the phone.  It is exactly what I need because no matter what I do, I still get a lot of solicitatious/political phone calls. Years ago, you could call a # for the do not call list and they were not supposed to be able to call....yeah right...it didn't work at all.

I ordered the phone from HSN and it looks great....love the color. The block call seems simple enough and I did need a new landline for my office.

Thanks a lot!  I will let you know how I like it!  HeartWoman HappyHeart

Re: My Phone That Blocks Out Robo Calls Is Working Overtime

I have seen that phone on HSN and wanted it but the old phone we have is a Panasonic and blocks 250 numbers. Believe it or not that isn't enough. I know you can delete old ones but I swear the same people keep calling for years, as soon as you delete them they seem to come back.

I live with my elderly Mom and she gets all kinds of scam calls.I wish I could find a phone that blocks a thousand numbers! I do love the corded phone included, we have that now.

While searching for a cordless base phone at amazon I saw this device that blocks 1200 numbers and has very good reviews.  CPR Call Blocker V202 if this helps the person who needed more than 250 capacity.

@pinks Thanks I have looked at those call blockers on Amazon and many of them were European made and that caused issues for some reviewers. Plus I don't know about setting those up, I do have a reasonable knack for techie items but I am easily aggravated by them too.Smiley Very Happy

I never watch hsn, but the I'm sorry I missed that phone. Try living in Iowa during the months leading up to presidential caucuses. It's one robocall after another from both parties and pollsters. Calls have started up again. I am a registered Independent, so I get it from all sides! I need that phone!

@libbyannE....the phone is still available at HSN, if you are still interested!  I love it, especially the color and features!

These seem to be pretty good.  I almost ordered one, but it was a higher model that blocked way more numbers.  I was going to get it directly from the website because the price was cheaper than Amazon.

Then I realized that I really cannot use it because it has to be hooked to the main phone.  My main phone is upstairs, near the modem since I changed to cable for landline, and I'm not up here that much anymore.  If I could have hooked it up to the extension in my living room where it's more central I was going to be all over that.

So just keep in mind that it has to be hooked up to your MAIN phone that is hooked through the phone line, or your modem - however yours hooks up.

BTW, I also learned that they have outstanding customer service.  I had ordered it before I thought it out (I hate when I do that!) and had to cancel it a couple of days later.  They took care of it for me in warp speed time.

Re: My Phone That Blocks Out Robo Calls Is Working Overtime

I just wanted to add this information, in case it could help somebody else -

I had mentioned upthread that I was bummed because the new Panasonic system I recently purchased didn't have the 'block' button right on the handsets.

I was looking around on Amazon at systems that DID have the block button and noticed that, with this one system I was looking at, I could get just an extra handset.  I figured I could use that one in the living room and have the block button nearby, or wherever I wanted it at any given time, on my existing Panasonic system.

The base and handsets look exactly like the ones I already have so I thought maybe, instead of getting a whole new system I could try just getting one of the extra handsets and using it on my current system AND still be able to have a block button on the one in the living room that I'm nearest most.  I figured if it didn't work I'd just go ahead and get the rest of them.

Well, I got the extra handset today and was able to pair it to the system I already have (btw, the model# of my system is NOT listed as one to which it's compatible)!  I'm so glad and figure that one handset with a block button is a whole lot better than none!   Saved a lot, too.  Smiley Happy

[ Edited ]

I had purchased a Panasonic phone base & 1 phone connected to it and had a 2nd Panasonic phone base in basement. Basement base didn't recognize the main floor base until I looked thru directions of main floor base phone and brought up the phone from basement and 'registered' it with the base. Up to 6 handsets can be put with one base phone.
