Key words "website appeared legit". If you have to ask yourself that question, it usually isn't, especially if you found it on social media.
One thing I do when I come across a new website or ad is check the "about us" and the "shipping and delivery" sections. They usually tell me what I need to know.
The website was recommended by a friend who had purchased baby items before so I never thought about reading the "about us" section. It was not from social media.
@Goodie2shoes In addition to the above, I also Google the company name and add "reviews" next to it. Sometimes you won't get any information but other times you might find a few reviews to see if it is legit , etc.

@Goodie2shoes wrote:I ordered a baby shower gift online on 6/21. The company sells many baby items and the website appeared legit. I followed the Tracking with final notice that it was out for delivery on 7/3 however I never received it. I called the company with a phone number in California but got a vm that no one was available and I was not able to leave a msg.
I then sent a email to the company via yahoo and got a response back from yahoo stating the email was sent 4 times but was a failure. I double checked the email address, went to the company website on 7/7 and sent a email via their "contact us" box with no response.
I have now contacted my credit card company and filed a complaint for the return of my $60 !
I have never had a problem like this before ! Has anyone had this sort of thing happen before and if so how did it turn out ? I have a ring doorbell and I was home on 7/3. Did you get your money back ??
Cuddle Baby looks like a legitimate company. It appears you sent the email to the wrong address. Here is the information:
email: support@cuddle-baby.com
17595 Harvard Avenue, Irvine, CA, 92614 United States
Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
I read that their items come from all over the world. So, if it is shipping internationally, it could take awhile.. If you go to their website cuddle baby, you can submit your complaint online. Just go to contact us and it will take you to the form..I would try again giving all your information so they can track your order.Hope this helps.
@elated @Goodie2shoes . I looked at the sight as well and it is legit. However, like more and more sites online. They have a US base, but buy overseas. They are able to offer low prices and more unique because once you place order, they order overseas. Then it has to come from the country of origin. It goes to US warehouse. Then they send it to you. I learned that the hard way. They didn't tell me outright the item was in India. I had to do a bit of research on website. Luckily it was thru Etsy, so the email went directly to India. And it was guaranteed. Each email took 2-3 days to answer because of time zones. But they did answer, the vendor said he shipped to,states , taking about 2 weeks. Then vendor in US mailed to me taking about 3-7 days. I ordered a 14k blue topaz stack ring. When the package came it was in larger box, with another plastic box inside full of cheap junk jewelry. He said to look for ring taped in there. They hide it in junk jewelry to hide thru customs. But someone took mine it was no where in box. The vender was so nice, immediately refunded money that day. He told me theft happens often with jewelry and small items. Sigh. I really, really wanted that ring for granddaughter. Found one on QVC, but not as nice design and stone as the one in India.

I received a tracking number via email including a delivery company called "CJ" and that's all it said. I have never heard of that company so that was another concern. Thanks for your question

Thanks for your concern but I was very thorough on making sure of the company email on their website and sent my concern to that email address. I'm sure the item was sent from overseas because the tracking email did not specify the original shipping from location, it documented when it got to NJ( no specific city documented) then to Chicago and St. Louis.

@Goodie2shoes I had something similar happen to me a long time ago. I never received my order. There was no phone number on the company's website.. only an email address. I sent numerous emails but never received a response. I contacted my credit card company. I sent them copies of all my emails. They also tried contacting the company to no avail. I was given a full refund by my credit card company.

Yes...just today I called my credit card company and file a dispute.
UPS was the shipper and I never received the order.
Ordered on 7-1 arrived (supposedly) 7-8.
UPS app says they cannot file a claim but the merchant can because they have more info!
WHAT?
Anyway, I'm glad I ca turn it over to the cc company.
I have had to do this before (file a dispute).
it has always worked out
