I hope they don't fly away, fly away.

Re: My Hummingbirds Have Arrived

I've always wanted to put out feeders, but was told that they can drip and attract bees ... and ants. What's your experience with the feeders?

Hi Marp, Talk about Hummers we have about 10 or more hanging around our feeder . I can't ever remember so many at a time . I have to refill the feeder seems like almost every day. The feeder is just out side our den and we can see them from the den window and from my kitchen sink window they are so enjoyable to watch for sure.

Re: My Hummingbirds Have Arrived

I love Hummingbirds! We never had any (in PA) till last year. Finally we had them, so I hope we get them this year but so far none (may be too early here?). Anyway, we have lots of types of birds but it was hard to attract hummingbirds until last year.

Shorty,

Did you hang a feeder last year? If so the hummers that fed from it will very likely return this year. I don't know which part of PA you are in but there have been a number of sightings reported in the eastern part of the state and one has been recorded for yesterday's date in the extreme western part of the state. Looks like this is the week for arrivals in PA.

I love them too. They usually show up here in late May when I put my hanging fern baskets out on my front porch (after the frost danger has passed). I'll have to buy some feeders this year.
