Re: My First Post on the Wedding...

I loved it all...my only  comment (or maybe just a question or observation) ..I am former military and I was under the impression that facial hair was forbidden in uniform, except maybe in the Navy. Maybe the rules are not the same in the UK.

Re: My First Post on the Wedding...

Everything about the wedding was beautiful.  However, for me  there is nothing Camilla can do or say that impresses me positively nearly as much as her "doings" through the years has made a negaative impression on me. Cannot stand her.

@wonderfulworld, Harry did break the rules with the beard. It was said he could get away with it because he's not in active service and he is a prince.

I read that the British Army was allowing beards on those serving in Afganistan in an effort to blend in with the locals.

So, there's that.

I heard it reported on the day of the Wedding that Meghan preference is the beard.

So, there's that, too....

The wedding was beautiful. I felt Meghan's simple dress showcased her beauty. I also believe Charlotte is adorable, but I bet she will be a handful in the future. She probably is already.

Here's something I found online (insider.com, whatever that is):

When Prince Harry arrived at his wedding to Meghan Markle on Saturday morning, many noted that he opted to wear a full Blues and Royals military uniform rather than a tux or suit.

The decision was reportedly an important one to Harry, as ABC noted on air that his military service is something that holds a special place in his heart. The Telegraph further noted that he'd wear it as a sign of respect to the regiment of Marines in which he served. He served in the Army for 10 years, taking two tours in Afghanistan and rising to the rank of captain. He left the service in 2015. Harry asked for special permission from the Queen to wear the uniform, according to the Independent. Prince William also wore the ceremonial Marine uniform, serving as Harry's best man. He served from 2006-2013 with the Royal Air Force often performing search and rescue duties.

Re: My First Post on the Wedding...

Thank you for the link and for the facial hair explanation. No one but royalty can get away with it I guess.

I really appreciate the research!!!

Re: My First Post on the Wedding...

I didn't watch.  But, photos and snippets from the news, it looked like a beautiful wedding and she made a beautiful bride.  Everyone looked happy and that's what counts.

Re: My First Post on the Wedding...

I just saw snippets of the wedding too. It looked really beautiful, the weather was lovely. The beautiful flower arch she walked under...just perfect.  I really enjoyed the choir singing the American song Stand by Me. Perfect. I hope they will stand by each other through life's trials.
