When my chihuahua was 3 years old I noticed her gnawing and licking her paws constantly. I took her to the vet and he said she was allergic to grass and this was the age that allergies tend to show up in dogs. She has been on predisone for a few years and it doesn't totally stop the issue. I hate her being on this medication because I know it is not good for her. A couple of years back the vet gave me something else to try, but advised me that it may cause vomiting. Well, it caused violent vomiting every time she ate and I couldn't stand to see her so sick.
I thought about buying some of those shoes for dogs, but I am not sure she would go for that. Any suggestions fromanyone else who has dealt with this issue?
