DD is on vacation this week. She had a Dr. appointment and then went to Home Goods. She saw bags of truffles and stopped to look at them. She picked up a ba and turned it aound to read the back of the bag. The bag was ripped and a truffle plus 2 empty wrappers hit the floor. Evidently someone decided to sample them and put the bag back on the display.
DD was asking, "what the h*ll is wrong with people?" I told her we didn't have enough time to answer that question.
We both know people do stuff like that but it is still a shock when you see what pigs people can be.
And people wonder why DD and I prefer all animals to most humans.

Last year my cousin bought a box of tasty cakes at Costco and when he got home and opened them up there were no tasty cakes but a pair of sweatpants rolled up to fill the box. Evidently someone was hungry ate all the tasty cakes and had to fill the box with something. The kicker is they were his size and he wears them frequently. Not right for someone to do but it was funny.

Doesn't help with rising costs either.

I was at Walmart and witnessed a woman open 5 boxes of strawberries and proceed to pick out the best ones to curate her own box and packed it so full she got a dozen extra berries. People are disgusting.

People amaze me. Nothing really surprises me anymore. I ordered a boxed product (12 items to be a set). Amazon box opened and two packages missing. Box clearly stated, do not open, sold as a set.
Amazon refunded the whole set. I only asked for credit for the two missing. I clearly don't expect to receive a full credit on the pieces I did receive. And people wonder why prices continue to rise.
A previous coworker used to frequently buy expensive handbags, suits, use them a month, and return as defective. Sorry, that's terrible .......and then brazen enough to tell others........
I know there are a lot of great people, but I can't believe what some people try and get away with. Very sad.

I look at the costume jewelry sometimes when in big box stores. I notice the multipack of earrings will sometimes have a pair missing. I guess someone wanted just one pair, removed them and took them. Sheesh!

What your former co-worker did was disgusting. People like that contribute to the rising costs. Total dishonesty. @lynnie61 .

I've noticed empty cosmetic boxes a lot more at TjMaxx. I once opened a shoe box at Marshalls and in it were old smelly very dirty men's shoes.

I've seen small children steal from grocery stores and I've seen teenage girls steal cosmetics and cheap earrings. Now, one winter I did see a guy stuff a bunch of packages of meat inside his zipped parka.
Despite that I don't lump the entire human race into a bunch of awful humans that I would just as soon turn my back on and write off.
You want a better society, start with your own kids and grandkids.

My Aunt was a District Manager of a JCP store...oh the stories she would tell.....this one woman would buy school clothes for her kid in August from this one store.....she would return them the following August saying "the clothes didn't wear well"....my Aunt refused to give her a refund saying the clothes had been fine since her child wore them all year!".... The woman went up the chain of command and talked to JCP's Corporate Office, and they approved the refund...this woman did this year after year and basically got her kid's school clothes for free....😡 And this is one of the reasons JCP is struggling financially and my Aunt went to work for a Boutique
