He got on the Coast Starlight on Friday, which was supposed to leave the station at 8:45, but instead left at 1:50 in the AM.

His ultimate destination was Vancouver, B.C.

The train goes as far as Seattle, Washington, then he was to catch a bus that would take him the rest of the way.

The train was supposed to get in to Seattle at about 8:40 PM, and after the bus ride, get into Vancouver, B.C. at 12:20 AM.

Well, the train hit a vehicle along the way. Nobody was hurt, but there was a delay while there were reports taken.

Fortunatly, the bus waited for the (very) late train to get in.

My dad ended up getting into Vancouver at about 3:00AM today.

He has a flight out of Vancouver Airport at 11:00AM today to Dawson Creek.

He went straight from the Amtrak Station to the Airport, where he met some nice people who gave him a pillow and and a blanket, where he promptly sacked out on a bench.

When he woke up, he could've sworn up and down that he saw me sitting on the end of the bench.

Talk about weird and creepy.

I mean, I admit that I was thinking about him as he was on his journey, but dammn!

Once my dad got to Dawson Creek, and checked into his hotel, he promptly fell asleep on the bed.

Since Friday, he had only gotten at most six hours of sleep. He was one tired man!

On Thursday he gets to do it all over again, in reverse.

Not bad for an 84 year old.
