@chrystaltree

My doors lock all at once. When I enter the car they all lock too when the car is started. If I click the unlock button I have about thirty seconds to enter the vehicle or will lock itself.

@mamaslittlepotato, Yes and whether she did or didn't, it is still a terrible thing to happen

That's terrible that,your car was broken into. It feels like such a violation. In Connecticut, car thefts are up so much, that the brazen thieves carry guns, and nothing is off limits. It's a sad epidemic that is going largely unpunished in this state, due to the lenient juvenile system.

@tiny 2 Of course it’s a terrible thing to happen, no matter what. I know that. Just goes to show you that if a thief really wants to break in, they somehow will, unlocked or not.

@mamaslittlepotato   @tiny 2

When my car was stolen, the police officer taking the report said something that always stuck with me ....

"if they REALLY want your car, they will get it no matter what  ... even if they come for it with a helicopter and a giant magnet to pick it up (he was exxaggerating to prove his point) .... at least no one is dead ...  and this is why you have insurance."

Sobering.

Well, the good thing for the OP is she will never leave her car unlocked ....  as I learned, it further increases your awareness.

Re: My Car Was Broken into Last Night!

This week we just installed a light/camera outside.  It would all be on film.  It was time, due to an incident down the road a bit.  We're (neighbors) all doing a concentrated effort to dissuade anymore problems.
