QVCfreak after looking at all those wires that you had to get off that tree I just have to say if I worked that hard I would have packed those devils up and sent them back to QVC registered mail. Along with the wires would have been a letter requesting some of my money back. for what these tree's cost it is a crime that they don't work properly. My cousin spent a large mint of money for her tree and it worked for the week she had it up then when she went to use it again nothing not one strand of lights worked. We are in a mess here we bought a pre-lite tree for our outside it is all decorated and not one lite will work on it . Family member spent so much time decorating it and getting it set up and when we said we would take ot apart and take it back he told us he will put other lights on it and we can return it after Christmas. I am calling the store and seeing if they want to come here and see that the tree is not lighting . They are very close to our home so it is not a big deal for them to lay eyes on it. Will see what happens here. You did a beautiful job decorating your tree.

@cater, can you see their face when they open a box of cut up wires and lights.
Thank you, I was so happy with my tree last year and yesterday I was so frustrated with it but I’m happy I tackled the project.
Look at my arm and all the scratches.

yikes!!! I would never have the patience OR fortitude to go thru this...I would have called Bethlehem Lights immediately (well Monday) then if I didn't get satisfaction -- I would have posted on their social media page.
I am am still fighting with Rooms To Go & patiently waiting for my day in small claims court. (Long story) but I'm determined to make RTG be responsible for the junk they sold as leather.
I think most companies want to hear the good & bad. I recall I bought a 8 qt oval cast iron Dutch oven at Macy's. The lid was "chipping" - Macy's wouldn't help me I called JA Henkel they were great. They sent me a better model of the item and I was glad they stood behind their product.
Doesnt hurt to let them know!

@homedecor1, thanks I will call them and see what they say. After all I do have the photos. Good luck with Rooms to Go. Hope everything goes in your favor.

We just got ours out - from Home Depot 3 years ago - and put it together to test the lights - all tiers lit.
When we bought this tree 3 years ago it was the last tree they had at HD - it was a display tree - got it for $50.We never expected it to last this long. We wanted a 9 ft tree, and were so happy to find this one.
My DH says every year it is our last & final tree and I say No it isn't. We'll see who wins that arguement.

WOW-I can only image the work you did....and your tree looks BEAUTIFUL!!!..............
I think your problem is Bethlehem Lights. They have had issues in the past too...there was a big recall one year because there were incidents of fires...... Ive purchased pre-lit trees from Home Depot over the years and never had a problem. But I will say they last about 5 years and thats it (coincides with most warranties for these trees too).....

@qvcfreak, I would make it my mission in life to call Bethlehem and complain about the lights and all the work you endured. They should send you a refund of some sort. You ended up doing a beautiful job but that is too much work for no reward. ![]()

ITA w/ @stevieb - it doesn't matter what brand you buy, or how costly the tree, they all have the same issues.
Stevie, just like w/ your HOA trees, the hotel I worked in bought some huge pre-lit trees for the hotel lobby, and they were beautiful and perfect for only the 1st year.
Afterwards, we had to string lights on them, but the sight of those unlit bulbs and wires that went to nowhere drove me nuts!
Just say NO to pre-lit trees!

@sabatini I agree... I've had not pre-lit trees on which I wove the strings of lights... (always a treat, by the way) and had some of the strings go out once up and decorated... I just HAD to do what the OP here did... I cut out all the strings that wouldn't light and wove fresh strings in... A royal pain and it happened twice (different years)... Not sure I would do all that now, but at the time, leaving those unlit strings just seemed so half azzed...

@sabatini, that’s why I took the task of removing the lights. My eyes would go directly to those unlit lights and I wouldn’t have enjoyed my tree
