Leonard Cohen wrote and sang Hallelujah in 1984.

Jeff Buckley sang this in 1994.

Brandi Carlisle, Jason Castro, and KD Lang also do a great job on this song.

Jeff Buckley's father was Tim Buckley.  A 1960's icon and talented musician.  He died young too. A member of the "28" club.  (those musicians that died at age 28 of which were quite a few)
