@Kachina624   One of the charges against him is the insurance "fraud"  Will his son still get it?  Buster (?) is innocent.  Or rather no charges against him.  I wonder how insurance claims are settled if the perp attempted fraud by killing (in this case his wife)

I wouldn't think there will be any money that will not be taken and restitution made to all he stole from.  He had loans also upon loans...plus stealing millions from his clients and law firm.  Since he admitted guilt already on all of these crimes by testifying I would hope it is quick on the 99 charges and counting so these people get something.

Also, I keep thinking he must have hidden some of this somewhere else perhaps?  Off shore accounts maybe??

Buckle up this could be very interesting!

@tsavorite  The clients Alex stole from have already been and/or in the process of being made whole by his law firm.  This was confirmed when one of the firm's partners took the stand early on in the trial.

Also, Alex already reimbursed the law firm from his personal funds of the $$$$ he stole from them using the firms credit card.

Of those 99 charges against Alex not sure the law firm wanting reimbursement/recovery of what they paid to Alex clients is one of them.  Or the firms insurance company is one of them.

It was interesting to me that he made the life sentences to be served consecutively. Sends a very strong message. Still saying he is innocent. I am sure he is already on suicide watch. He still has 99 charges against him for all of his financial crimes. Many of them will be tried by the same judge who sentenced him today.  There must be quite a few inmates where he is going who he sent there over the years. I feel so bad for his only living child, Buster. I hope somehow Buster ends up with the money he is entitled to, not the money his father swindled from others.

Really? Buster should be looked into for the Stephen Smith murder. That entire family sounds awful.

@Mz iMac

THANK YOU for this info.  This helps a lot as "down payment" trying to understand the remaining 99 cases that are facing Alex Murdaugh.

I'd heard, & not sure its gospel, that a fund, with overseer ,has been established that collects as much as they can, of the monies that Alex owed them.

But I thought I heard the overseer say that there's only a couple million in there so far.  And it wont stay open forever.  Hopefully, stays open long enough to satisfy A LOT, those that were cheated out of their rightful money.

Altho, not sure NOW, all that helps the Quadriplegic that was as a result of the sued Auto Accident.

Or the Brain affected son of Paul & Buster's childhood "Nanny."

As well as many many others, who were owed their own earned money!

I can just hope, for helpful, reasonable restitution for those deserving it, albeit, very very delayed, & perhaps too small.

I've read today that a juror said it was the video from the phone that convinced that Murdaugh was "big liar."

@songbird   I don't know but he also defrauded his housekeeper's family out of over $4M after he offered to help them settle the claim against him, then kept the money.  She died after falling in his house, another strange death on his premises.

The body of Gloria Satterfield, longtime housekeeper for disgraced South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh, will be exhumed.

An autopsy was never performed, and, they listed the death as natural.

She was found at the bottom of the stairs and died from her injuries. Hmmm....

@meallen616   Good because from what I've read, it was suspicious.  I've wondered if it was even investigated since the Murdaugh th family seemed to control the judicial system in that area for years.

Then he grabbed her insurance payout and her family never got a cent of the $4M.
