@drizzellla - How cool. I bet the actress who played Mrs. Roper (Audra Lindley) would get such a kick out of it. That was such a good show.

That is a HOOT! I would love to have seen it in person! Mrs. Roper cracked me up with her giving Stanley heck all the time! What a couple!

Audrey Lindley played Mrs Roper, she was a good comedic actress as well as dramatic, prior to that she was a villianess on the soap, Another World.
Norman Fell played Mr Roper, what a hoot they were together, played off each other beautifully. Then abc gave them their own show and it failed, Then Threes Company got Don Knotts as Mr Furley, the new landlord.

@drizzellla That looks like fun! I never heard of this event.
I would fit right in, except for the red hair. My girls will sometimes call me Mrs. Roper.
When I'm at home, I live in caftans. I usually wear earrings.
Sometimes I will also wear a necklace.

@CelticCrafter I remember when that movie, "The Blob" came out. I was eleven years old, when I saw it. That night, I was scared and slept I my mother's bed.
My baby brother was sleeping in his crib and there was a heat vent in the wall, next to his crib. I kept imagining that the blob would ooze through the heat vent. ![]()

Every year they have a Blob Fest in July!
My son keeps his eyes out for events at the Colonial Theater. He took me to see "Wings' not too long ago. The Colonial bought a pipe organ and restored it so that when they show silent movies there is organ accompaniment.
The organist is able to obtain the music that originally accompanied the movie.
I also saw "The General". In addition to numerous old "talky" movies.
It is fun to see the counter with all "The Blob" merchandise on display.
Earlier this year they had Eddie Muller appear and introduce a number of noir movies for a weekend..

Sad to read that she died before the Mrs Roper Romp started -
After taping an episode of Cybill (1995), she admitted herself into a hospital as she felt mildly ill. Having been previously diagnosed with leukemia, and doing prescribed treatments, there was no immediate concern for her condition, as she was in high spirits during her stay. It was the following day when she unexpectedly died, and at her bedside was the script for the next episode of Cybill (1995) in which she recently earned a recurring role.
