Hello Fellow Shoppers,
I'm reposting a question that I previously asked because I am hoping that I can enjoy my two Mr. Christmas Symphony of Bells once again this upcoming Christmas season:
I am hoping that someone out there can offer some advice as to where I can get my (2) Mr. Christmas Symphony of Bells music boxes repaired.
In one of them, the animation still works - the skaters still move around and the lights come on- but the music and bells won't play when I turn on the switch in the back of the unit. On the other one, it is the complete opposite - the bells and music work - but the lights won't come on and the train doesn't move along the track.
In both units, the switchplates that are on the back of the unit have become loose and have come out of the wooden case. The glue they used to keep them in place apparently didn't hold well enough.
I called Mr. Christmas several years ago, right after they stopped working which was during the very first Christmas season after I purchased them, and was told that they will only replace the item if it is within the first 90 days of purchase. My purchase was just outside of this 90 day warranty. They made it clear that they do not repair any of their items, nor could they supply new switches or other parts that may need to be replaced.
For a company who constantly promotes their items as "heirloom quality" that will last for generations, I was truly disappointed that they will only stand behind their workmanship for 90 days. These are Christmas items that I only use/have out for display for one month out of the year, and they still didn't hold up to gentle use. Very disappointing!
I've called around to a few places in my area - a clock/watch repair place and a vaccuum repair shop - but no luck.
Any suggestions? Has anyone else had similar issues with their music boxes? If so, please share how you got your problems resolved. Thanks for your time and kindness!
