Just curious. What is it that people prefer about standard time?

because it is ""natural""......the way it is supposed to be. it is not man-made like daylight savings time is. i dont ""need"" any extra sunlight in the spring/summer and i dont mind the evening hours beginning when they should begin.....around 5-5:30. i like to howl at the moon!

I get up at 5 to go to the work in the city so it is dark regardless. I appreciate the extra light in the late afternoon.

i would love to move the time BACK permanently and go back to standard time all year long!

Ditto that. The whole 'moving the clock back and forth' thing always seemed silly to me. I mean, I DO get that it had a purpose WAY back with farming and all. But it really has no purpose now.

If it just doesn't move at all, people still have the same number of hours when it's dark and when it's light. It's just semantics and I'm not buying. Smiley Happy

I think Arizona and Hawaii are the only states left where they don't change the clocks. Some years back I believe Indiana jumped on board with it.

I wish we would keep it right where it is now!

I especially like the standard time because when my husband and I go out to dinner I like the atmosphere when it is dark earlier.

Well farmers and people who get to work early or have long commutes appreciate the daylight time change. I can see if you are not doing that then it may bother you? I know when I work from home I am still up early and so it is nice to see the sun breaking at 6 am.

I wish it didn't change at all. The only good part was living in Arizona and going to shop in Vegas, so it gave us an extra hour to shop. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I don't mind it being dark in the evening ... isn't that what a night is all about? I can't stand getting up when it's still dark though.

When it starts getting dark around 4 pm, by 8 or 9 I feel like it's midnight and want to go to bed.
