Owners admit talking to their pets/animals
Like they were human.
Do you?

Why, yes, of course. They are my friends. I love them. I trust them. Why wouldn't I talk to them like they were human? They seem to think they are anyway!

Yes, I do all the time. Our Golden is 8.5 years old. I talk to her kind of like I talked to my kids when they were toddlers - maybe 2 years old. I realize she doesn't get ALL the words, but she certainly knows tone. And she does know a lot of words! ❤ She seems to enjoy it when I talk to her.

My cats have come to recognize certain words --- "sit", "treats" when they are out on the patio and its getting late....."come in"..... "come here" ...... "jump"

Of course I talk to my cats. Doesn't everyone? My cats understand when I say EAT, TREAT and many other choice words. They blink at me when I look at them and say, "I love you". That's what cats do when they tell you they love you. I believe my cats know exactly what I say.
I prefer animals to humans any day. BUT, cats rule, dogs drool. HA!

Both my DH and I talk to our cats all the time. And they talk back to us! We have come to learn much of their language: like the yowl and look we get which says "Just what time do you think this is? I want my dinner NOW."
And one of my cats stares at me and lets out a low meow repeatedly, until I get the message that it's time for bed. She then waits until I go upstairs before she follows and joins me.
We have two-way conversations in this house.
(I no longer have dogs but, when I did, they certainly understood what I was saying to them.)

I have always talked to my cats. I sing to them too. They seem to like it. Two of my cats would even talked back to me. My Maine Coon, Katie knows "something to eat"," come up"(to the couch),
"want brushing?", "want combing?", "drinks"(for water), "want chicken?", "want belly rubs?", "come get pats", "get the ball","let's go up to bed", "where's Daddy?", "lets go see squirrels and birds." ( The squirrels that we feed, also come up to the window to see Katie.)
Every night, Katie comes to me around 9:30 p.m. and paws my arm, as I am sitting at the desk at my computer. She wants treats. I say, "Let's get Greenie treats, go in your little house." She goes into a cardboard box and waits for me to put the Greenies in a little dish in her box. She likes to have them in private.
Ever since I started giving my cats about 6-7 Greenies a day, they have never needed to have teeth cleaned at vets.
Katie's sister , Silvie was a silver blue Main Coon. She only lived 2 1/2 years and we lost her to congestive heart failure.
That baby just loved to be brushed. I would hold out the brush
and say,"Want brushing?". She would throw herself onto the floor for me to brush one side. Then, I would say,"Turn over , I'll do the other side." She would roll over for the other side to be brushed.
So precious! She loved to be brushed.
One time, when they were about a year old, Silvie had a vet appointment and we could'nt find her. After looking all over the house, we asked Katie "Where's Silvie?" She had us follow her upstairs and she took us to a closet.(My husband forgot that he had it opened earlier.) I opened the door and there was Silvie. Katie knew exactly where her sister was and knew that we were asking her to find her for us.
Many people think that cats are not as intelligent as dogs, but I know that they understand what we say.

All the time.
I have a Golden and he is very smart. He knows so many words, it's amazing.
I also talk to the bird. He's very smart, also.
I just wish they could talk back, especially if they are not feeling well. It's frustrating not being able to get that information.
