I just gotta say it. Your title pretty much puts a prejudgment on those that post with you while seeking no judgment of you at the same time. IMO I would not judge anyone who has gone through what you have gone through. Nor would I expect someone to prejudge how I will or will not react to them. G-d Bless and good luck on your journey.

Sylvia...I almost lost my younger sister about 15 years ago. Her stomach was perforated, due to alcohol abuse, she was in ICU, and wasn't expected to live.

She's doing so well now, and we're all so relieved and grateful. Those of you who get through this...I'm proud of you, and admire your strength.

Not with a perforated stomach, but deadly suicide attempts---yes (s). I'm so happy for you and your family and definitely your sister.

There are many here that "post with me" and I have a pretty checkered past, including my own battles with: alcohol/tobacco/gambling and weight. Like yourself I never went to AA or to any professional counseling to help with these addictions. I did however seek professional help when it came to my mental issues.

You did and are doing very well and I congratulate you for your accomplishments. Life at times throws some big and bad things our way. Some look like mountains to us while to others they look like a pebble.

My best to you now and in your future. Feel free to "post with me" anytime about anything.

Like, admire, and respect you even more now, John. You successfully came out on the other side, knowing that the only way out was through. 8-)

I've my own past and present hurdles/challenges, and truly empathize.
