Reach out with compassion and a gentle spirit to all that you meet
because they, too, are carrying a heavy cross. Lord, may I remember
that all others have hardships, too, and may I be a source of encouragement
for them or at the very least not add to their troubles.

Scripture for the day:

"There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy
habitation of the Most High." Psalm 46:4

Meditation for the Day

We seem to live not only in time but also in eternity. If we abide
with God and God abides with us, we may bring forth spiritual fruit
which can last for eternity. If we live with God, our lives can flow
as some calm river through the dry land of earth. It can cause the
trees and flowers of the spiritual life--love and service--to spring
forth and yield abundantly. Spiritual work may be done for eternity,
not just for now. Even here on earth we can live as though our real
lives were eternal.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may try to make my life like cool river in a thirsty
land. I pray that I may give freely to all who ask my help.

Hello my friends! We're back to the daily thread again! I'll keep it
simple, I promise you! Let's continue to post our blessings of the day, and
mine today is the rather hot, in the 80's weather, but my goodness, the
raspberries love it and got more than I thought there would be being I just
picked them yesterday too, guess every day is the norm, and I was also
blessed with a bunch of fresh cherries from the trees - got some lower
branches - the robins like to help out! They love them! Had a nice visit
today with Linus' brother and wife, he returned a saw, and they enjoyed
looking over the whole yard of gardens here and there! There is some
concern about Linus' neck, after 3 adjustments, it hurts and he's getting
concerned. Please pray for healing there. He takes iboprofin. So I
thought I'd post just another inspiration here and always a prayer, maybe
some more throughout the day - what do you like? I'm doing this for you,
not me.
May the Good Lord bless you all with all your desires that are good for you!
Praying for you all! Thanks for your prayers!

A man went to a Jewish rabbi and complained, "Life is unbearable. There are
nine of us living in one room. What can I do?" The rabbi answered, "Take
the goat into the room with you."

The man did not believe what he was hearing ... take a stinking goat into
the house? But the rabbi insisted, "Do as I tell you and come back in a
week. "A week later the man came back half dead, saying, "We cannot stand
it any longer. That goat is filthy and smelly."

The rabbi then told him, "Now go home and let the goat out. And come back
in a week's time." A radiant man visited the rabbi a week later. "Life is
beautiful, rabbi. We enjoy every minute of it. No goat - and only the nine
of us."

Another rabbi put it this way: "The best way to feel real contentment is to
lose everything you have ... and then get it all back again."

Our Closing Prayer:

My Prayer To Our Father

Thank you Dear Father, for giving us this glorious day! Thank you, Dear
Father, for the many blessings you bring us each day, for food on our table,
and shelter over our heads. Thank you for the sunshine, the trees and the
beautiful blue sky. Thank you for our friends, family as well, and
especially your son Jesus who died for us on the cross.

Father, I come to you today to ask for your blessings, and to pray for my
friends both near and far, for Our Country, and Our people, for those who
are sick, or ailing, for those who are down for whatever reason, for those
who are happy, and for those who are sad after losing loved ones or just
leading unsaved lives. I ask you to take their hands and lead them towards
you instead of away from you.
Watch over them, protect them, and guide them. I ask these things in the
name of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Amen.
