Re: Moms NOW vs Mom THEN!!๐Ÿ˜‚

@CANDLEQUEEN Welcome!๐Ÿฅฐ  ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ I have been pleasantly surprised at how many of us had to be home by then!๐Ÿ˜‚ As much as I would hate to leave my friends that did not have the same curfew as I, my hiney knew what would happen if I did not!๐Ÿ˜‚ My dear mother said what she meant and she meant what she said! PERIOD!โค๏ธ

As my dear grandmother would say, "That'll learn ya".๐Ÿ˜ I look back on that simpler time with great fondness, but at that time, I wish I could have teleported myself somewhere else!๐Ÿ˜Š

THANK you SO much for caring to share!๐Ÿค—

@SandySparkles ...... thanks for the laughs and trip down memory lane!  I remember all of the "then" list. I think I was usually peanut butter and jelly on Wonder Bread.  My brother had the bologna.  I also remember Wonder Bread being about 25 cents.   In fact, to answer @monicakm....I did get my mouth washed out once with a bar of Ivory soap!  Whatever I said then I never said again!  HA!

@walker Welcome!๐Ÿฅฐ I am SO glad you are enjoying warm memories!โค๏ธ I LOVEDโค๏ธ Wonder Bread on any sandwich; ESPECIALLY peanut butter and grape jelly or strawberry preserves.๐Ÿ˜

@SandySparkles @love this. We didn't swear we knew better lol. If I didn't like dinner I made something for myself lol, no fast food drive thru, we didn't cry much we knew better lol. We played outside until we were called in and a bag lunch or paid hot Lunch at school. After school a quarter bought me a coke and a bag of chips lol๐Ÿ˜‚

@Faceplacegirl Welcome!๐Ÿฅฐ Ahhh...to be a young again!๐Ÿ˜

I had completely forgotten about using my allowance to stop at the local mart, and buy a pickle, and an ice cold Pepsi in a bottle after school on the way home!๐Ÿ˜ŠThat was such a tender remembrance, and I THANK you for it!๐Ÿ˜

I also used to hear:

"Because I said so!"

"Do you think money grows on trees?"

@haddon9 Welcome!๐Ÿฅฐ Our dear mothers must have been twins separated at birth because I heard those phrases REGULARLY!๐Ÿ˜

@Faceplacegirl Welcome back!๐Ÿฅฐ They were a quarter when I was in middle school! I could sometimes buy four for a dollar of my allowance so that my friends and I could have some! They were big, juicy pickles!๐Ÿ˜
