Do you mean what can be done about the older homes? I don't know. It seems to me that older buildings are "grandfathered in" so to speak; they often don't have to comply when standards change.

 

Where safety is an issue, I think all buildings need to be upgraded but I don't think that will happen because of the huge cost. Who pays? Many can't afford it and many homes would need to be completely replaced.

I agree... we have to preserve history-and the . Story of everyday living. There just seems to be so much social prejudice.
