Everyday I toss a handful of peanuts around the base of one of our oaks to feed some of the many squirrels that scurry back and forth.
Today......I got lucky and was able to record one of them thanking me.....he's a little confused though....they are peanuts...not walnuts.

Priceless! I think I'll be laughing for a while. We feed the squirrels nuts, too; and I love watching them eat with their round little tummies showing and both "hands" holding the nuts. Thx for sharing this, Lotus. It made my day.

I'm just now reading your siggie, Lotus. You lost two within two months of each other? Omg, I can't imagine how you dealt with it. I'm so, so sorry.

Thanks Flirty....it was VERY hard....I had to put them both down. That's the first time I'd ever had to do that.
Jack was almost 20 years old....we found him when he only weighed 13 ozs. and I had to hand feed him. He had a good life.
Ashley had an abdominal mass and got very sick very quickly....she was the sweetest kitty ever.....she broke my heart.

I'm so acquainted with the pain you had to endure, as we've had to put down three. The others passed without our having to make that horrid decision, not that it made losing them any easier. It's not something we ever forget. But two months apart is so much emotion to go through. I believe you when you say it was very hard. You didn't even have time to fully come to terms with losing Ashley before losing Jack. I know they had good lives with you. It shows in all your words. As pet parents, knowing we gave our all out of love for them is the one consolation we have. I hope that helped ease the pain a little...............Filly
