@goldensrbest   I miss interesting content more than specific posters. Sometimes if I don't begin a thread myself there's not much to read or respond to.

Sadly, I think some of our members have aged and may have aches, pains and dimishing eyesight and just don't feel like posting or even commiunicating.

@goldensrbest Is there really any wonder why some people exit the forums? You have to be as tough as a boot, to hang in here. It can be a tough crowd.

But, it's great mental exercise for those who hang on, LOL. It's definitely a test of endurance. Nothing new. It's typical for online social activities these days.

My remedy. Just embrace the best of online chatting and ignore the worst. Limit expectations and remember that no one can push our buttons, if we don't let them.

I don't care for the missing poster threads.  You seemed hurt recently that there wasn't a post inquiring about you, @goldensrbest.

I miss posters but don't ask.

That is you,not me i happen to care.Why even answer my thread,if you do not care about missing posters?

I think it's perfectly ok for any poster to leave the forums whenever they wish but I do get concerned when a poster who has shared that they have significant or chronic illnesses stops posting suddenly.  It's just a fear that something significant has happened to the poster even though I acknowledge it's none of my business.

@Jk9

I think that too and it's based on a prior experience when internet was new, maybe 1994 or 1995 and I was part of a JewelCollect group.

One poster who had a very funny side started posting incomprehensible messages, like xoisu ys jgioes.  We thought here she goes again however she had a stroke and died soon after, it was horrible.

Because you posted and I had an opinion. Like mentioned above we just had a missing posters thread recently.

In the past, I have seen posters announce their exit and they were jumped on.  Rude posters told them no need to announce, just go.

So now I think many just go and don't say goodbye. Some posters are too sick to post or they have passed.

Some are just fed up with the rudeness or they don't feel respected if someone disagrees with them.

A few leave in a huff to never return.  I suspect there are many reasons posters just stop.

I sure remember the response that the "farewell" posts often received, @Carmie.  Not pretty.
