Japanese society is not always accepting of mixed raced parentage. It's a case she doesn't ""look"" Japanese.

Sad but true.

Japan is a pretty homogenous country.

i totally get what she's going through. i'm considered to as a hafu (mixed) by my purist relatives and am not seen as valuable to them as those who are ethnically (pure) homogeneous.

If she wasn't ""Japanese"" enough for them why did they pick her to represent their country in the first place?

I'm a total mongrel.
