Sorry.  Seems like they all get together and go at the same time, when it’s

very Inconvenient.  Ours have a tradition of going out between thanksgiving

and Christmas.  Ho Ho Ho!

My over the stove one sparked and died a few months ago at 13 months of age. The delivery, installation and haul away of the dead one cost more than the new microwave did. Friday my plumber is coming to replace my garbage disposal which is vibrating and making a strange sound and my refrigerator is also humming louder than normal when the freezer goes into defrost mode. I guess that'll be next. Oh and $240 bucks to have my washing machine repaired last month too. I won't even get into what some roofing work set me back in February. The joys of home ownership.

Do you have a Best Buy nearby?  I hear you purchase it maybe on line, they bring it out and put it in your car.  Worth the check...??

Generally speaking, when microwaves die it's because of an internal fuse. Some make it easy to fix the fuse, some make it very hard. If you happen to have this issue in the future, replacing the fuse can save you the cost of replacing the microwave. There are lots of YouTube videos out there to show you how to safely replace a microwave fuse depending on the model of microwave you have.

Re: Microwave died 😡

[ Edited ]

My microwave is holding it's own- 25+ years! I've had to replace the handle a couple times, it was an easy fix for me (I can be handy!). I was going to replace the unit when I upgraded my kitchen appliances. But mine is a built it- it's around $200 to install!  When I was considering the upgrade, the reviews were not so good, units seemed to have such a short life span, I didn't want to have to deal with the install costs every year or two. So I'm holding off- probably until I sell my home.
