Re: Microfiber sheet set from Walmart?

I also thought of myself as a sheet snob. Paying lots of money and yet never feeling entirely comfy. A few months ago I purchased a set of microfiber sheets (highgate manor) from HSN. In my 71 years of sleeping, I have never had sheets so wonderful! I love the slippery feel and enjoy making "sheet angels" swish, swish!! I went back to purchase another set but they were sold out. Both sides feel the same to me.

Re: Microfiber sheet set from Walmart?

The sheets from ShopHQ are so cheap that I wouldn't accept them if they sent them for free. I've tried all types and none has been satisfactory. The latest is 2 sets of sheets, one solid and one paisley in microfiber. They're so big and slippery they won't stay tucked in or even on the bed. You'd have to have a 20" mattress for them to fit right. I'm going to wash them and put them in the Goodwill box.

I still haven't decided what I'm going to do for sure with my sheets (still haven't tried them on my bed). I'll probably just end up taking them back.

I wouldn't quite put ""sheet snob"" and WalMart sheets in the same sentence or category.

Maybe the higher grade silk momme of maybe 30 . . . where a single pillowcase might cost on eBay what an entire flat/fitted/pillowcase set might cost at Wally World.

I didn't put ""sheet snob"" and Walmart in the same sentence nor did I intend them to be in the same category. I guess you misunderstood my post.

Re: Microfiber sheet set from Walmart?

My microfiber sheets are from Penny's, and they feel the same to me on both sides. Love them.

Just a FYI - I did learn from the host's babbling on QVC and HSN not to use fabric softener to extend the life of them.

Re: Microfiber sheet set from Walmart?

Speaking of sheets, I need your opinion. I am using a set of Vera Wang HEAVY sheets I bought at Kohl's probably two years ago. Of course I have not used them exclusively during that time. Now, the flat sheet has ripped beside the side seam probably two feet long. It is horrible. The seam has not come unstitched at all, it is the fabric beside the seam. What to do? I sure don't have the receipt and have had them a long time, but they should last a lot longer than this. They were pretty costly, too. But I remember thinking they were a good brand and would last. Should I try to take them back, try to sew them up some way, or use for rags?
