Irsh is correct, we are designed to eat meat, like it or not.

Scientific American
There is no doubt that human evolution has been linked to meat in many fundamental ways. Our digestive tract is not one of obligatory herbivores; our enzymes evolved to digest meat whose consumption aided higher encephalization and better physical growth. Cooperative hunting promoted the development of language and socialization; the evolution of Old World societies was, to a significant extent, based on domestication of animals; in traditional societies, meat eating, more than the consumption of any other category of foodstuffs, has led to fascinating preferences, bans and diverse foodways; and modern Western agricultures are obviously heavily meat-oriented. In nutritional terms, the links range from satiety afforded by eating fatty megaherbivores to meat as a prestige food throughout the millennia of preindustrial history to high-quality protein supplied by mass-scale production of red meat and poultry in affluent economies.

IMO that doesn't mean we have to eat meat, I eat mostly fish and chicken. Nonetheless, my lupus MD said I was getting too anemic and asked me to eat grass fed beef about once a week. I do maybe a couple of times a month, we haven't eaten much meat for years.
I fully support being vegan or vegetarian.

the state should have executed him!

Unfortunately, the body will tell us if it's designed to eat meat....and the body rejects animal products. Maybe that's why we have so many illnesses? Plant-based cultures around the world have the health & longevity to prove that fact we are not designed to eat animal. They thrive on a plant-based lifestyle.

This isn't just about serving time, for heaven's sake. Did you READ what he did to those dogs? If you respect him then that's on you...
What he did is deplorable and incomprehensible. There are people who are still doing these acts... and worse today. There are people who think it is a sport, and this mentality gets passed down to other generations.
I think it is more about forgiveness, than respect. Michael Vick has vowed to try to help stop dog fighting. He is working with the Humane Society to put his face on disgusting crime he committed. The HSUS' Human Society United States board of directors and staff decided that shunning Vick forever would do no good for any animal. Vick paid $1 million for the care and rehabilitation of the dogs at Bad Newz Kennels. Now he contributes his time and his voice to attacking the problem by reaching out to inner-city youth.
Vick has apologized and acknowledged the suffering he caused to animals. He has expressed his remorse and his desire to help more animals than he harmed by being an advocate for the humane treatment of animals. If he can help put an end and save other dogs that will be abused and killed in the same manner ... then I will forgive Vick.
I have to have some faith that some people are truly sorry for the evil deeds committed. And try to offset the harm with good intention, to help make positive changes. I sure hope I am right... only time will tell.

Thank you. One person even believes he should have been executed. Angry about the killing of animals but has no problem with killing a human being. The hypocrisy of America.

You OBVIOUSLY have NO CLUE and don't CARE about animal abuse. Really SAD, but not surprising.

You can understand what animal abuse is and involves and still have the capacity to forgive.
