@Enufstuff ,  Toni is so very precious and festive.  And very much in style, in her traditional sensibility-- she' so "Ralph Lauren",  with her tartan plaid, touches of gilt, and deep red roses for the holiday.

@Oznell   Thank you so much. I decided to re-post Toni in her plaid taffeta especially since plaids and the "Ralph Lauren" style is so popular this year.

  At this time, my plan is to start working on her dress for next Christmas by Spring or Summer at the latest. Things get so busy in Autumn and the next thing you know, the holidays are here.

  With my little Katie's illness this year, her loss in August, all my home improvement projects through Fall and then a death in the family in December, there never seemed time to get out everything to set up to sew. I have had all the materials and trims for a Christmas dress, for more than a year.

  When the dress is made, it will be a re-creation of my favorite red Christmas dress that my grandmother bought for me when I was 12. 

       Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I'm so sorry about your loss, @Enufstuff -- and then a death in the family in December.  You've had lots to deal with over the year, for sure, other than being a meticulous seamstress and designer extraordinaire...

It will be huge fun to see the dress that re-creates your grandmother's gift to you.  I love when you tie in the clothes that you once wore, to Toni's wardrobe!   Merry Christmas!
