HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all mom's here, including furry and feathered 'kids' moms. Still haven't gotten my keyboard to work, not even the new one. Hard to post using this on -screen keyboard. ATT has spent hours trying to figure out the problem with no luck so far.
I hope you have a lovely and peaceful Sunday.

For all who are mothers - no matter what you mother (human, furry, fishy, feather or reptiles - lol)
I am so excited - I hear two baby voices in the new birdhouse off my patio ![]()
Also, after taking a break on Thurs and Fri - Fred and Ethel Mallard came by yesterday afternoon, after I cut my grass. I think there is something about fresh cut grass that draws them.

Hello there birding friends ~
The morning weather was so pretty - mostly sunny and warm enough to leave the house with a blouse and sweater. The weatherman on the local news radio station said we can expect violent thunderstorms with straight line winds of 60-70 MPH. Guess I'll be walking the floors tonight - wind scares me so.

Hi Birding Friends, I hope you Monday was a good one for you. It was like a sauna here. Just breathing could break one out in a sweat. I did get quite a few of my houseplants outside so that the expected rain could give them a bath and a good drink.
Birdmama, I'm right there with you when it come to win storms + I don't like hail either. It just started to rain a little bit ago. What kind of baby birds re in that nest? I am still watching the 3 baby owlets. They have been named Winkyn, Blinkyn, and Nod.
They are so cute and are flapping their wings a lot. They have started hopping up to entrance of the box where the mama laid her eggs . When she gets in the box to feed them or groom them, it's really tight fit. I guess it won't be too long before thy leave the box, I'll sure miss them.
My rm is starting to hurt from typing this way. I am so tired of using the on screen keyboard. Hope buying another new keyboard will fix the problem.
Waving to all Birding Friends, take care and be safe.

Was sure I had posted here since the last one posted - weird! But that is the way things sometimes go.
Still have not put water back in the bird bath - crows are everywhere but do not hang around in the yard since it is empty. Am sure if I put water back in I would have a mess again. Still would love to know where they get all the walnuts but am sure there is tree hanging around somewhere. Use to be lot of walnut trees within a block - all were taken down due to putting buildings of some sort on the property. Walnuts use to be a really big thing - like chicken ranches - all gone.
Winds are fierce and it's also really heating up. Los Angeles is to have 101 heat the next couple of days. We are not suppose to get that hot - suppose to hit 99 here. We shall see. Must say however, I froze last night. LOL. Quite frankly I love the chilly nights as when they stop it's hard to get the house cooled down. I actually put a sweater on inside the house last night. Now that is typical out here - very cool nights and super hot days.
Had a very good Mother's Day - had treated Tessa's Mom and her brother last Wednesday as Tuesday was her Mom's BD and so I doubled it into a Mom's Day also. I treated them all to a great dinner at the Black Angus - very very good. Went to church and a friend and I decided to eat out afterwards and we went to the Country Club - they have great food there and prices super reasonable. Usually that is. They had a brunch and neither of us asked the price - we should have or we would have gone elsewhere. We each paid $25. Never again will I eat there when they have a brunch. Shame on both of us, however, as neither of us asked the price - how dumb can we be? Just never assumed they would do that. Poorly handled also as we had to keep asking what do we do, can we sit down, etc etc. LOL.
Have a couple errands today - not looking forward to them at all but I promised Tessa's Mom to take her a couple places so she can try and handle some of her business. Tomorrow am going to the Senior Luncheon at the church I had been attending - we will see how it goes. So much turmoil and upheaval at that church now am a tad leery but I really enjoyed going there. Hope the luncheon doesn't get stopped also - not sure how it will play out in the months to come. They have lost and are losing so many long time church members - all in the past two months. Cannot understand why they continue with the saber rattling as it makes no sense at all to me. I personally know two families that have been attending for a very long time - one for 39 years and the other for 40 - it has been so traumatic for them. They tried hanging in but just could not do it. I cannot imagine the emotions they have gone through being such long time members.
Hope all have a great day!!

Good Morning All ~ the violent weather missed my neck of the woods yesterday. We still need to make it through today and the temps will drop back down to the 50's and 60's for highs. I spotted a starling with a bad left wing in my back yard this morning. It looks to be adult sized and eats and moves very fast on foot. I would know as I walked out to check on it and it outran me to the pine trees. I pray it's just a strain, especially since we have some outside cats that are not mine but like to visit and shtoopie in my yard
.
Possummink - I imagine your wrist and arm are fatigued from typing on a screen. It would drive me nutcakes to be without a standard sized keyboard.
Winifred - That was sure nice of you to treat Tessa and the family. I suspect you got charged more money for the brunch because it was Mother's Day. If you go back to that church building for your luncheon, please wear a cross, crucifix or some kind of medal - all jokes aside - something is not natural over there.
Waving hello to fellow birders .....
