I have always thought that Memorial Day was a day for remembering those who gave their lives in service of our country. And that Veteran's Day was for thanking those who served and are serving but who are still with us.
I have some very good friends who are veterans and I always wish them a Happy Veteran's Day and thank them for their service but have not done so on Memorial Day as they are still alive.
Is that wrong of me? I respect and admire everyone who has served our country and want to do the correct thing.
