Compare the two pictures and it is obvious that she has had a lot of plastic surgery.

wow I don't even remember her looking thst way . She was very beautiful in the former in my opinion. She looks fine now too , just doesn't look like her . it's her face and she can do with it as she wishes .

I think Melissa has always had sharp, angular features, with smaller eyes like her mom. I agree with surgery, but I also feel part of her look is hereditary as well. Look at photos of her as a child, teen and young adult. I am sure she learned a lot from Joan, who was incredibly insecure. Look at the bone structure of Joan in the 1960's before PS. I love Joan. I remember as a kid my mom woukd read about her in the Paper, and tsk tsk about her bad jokes lol Joan played the Purple Onion in SF, and many times the police were there waiting. They woukd arrest a lot of the comics, Lenny Bruce too! Gotta give Joan credit, those places were men places, she had to be tough and persistent to get to where she was, cause she had so much against her as a woman back then. but I digress as usual.

i think the PS shows to much on her.also, I think photo shopping, and too shiny skin. But, what can you do. She seems like a nice person struggling, wanting some peace in life.

@HLP, I have many of Joan’s bee pins. Unfortunately, one of them, which had matching earrings, just disappeared. I was able to find a replacement, and several other bee pins I had missed out on when they were new, on eBay. It is a great source for her jewelry, much of it unworn. I found a pair of her Faberge egg earrings in an additional color on Bay, too.
