@SahmIam wrote:I'm not following this closely so I don't I know if this has been discussed in the media/here:
* If her dad was broke, how was he expected to rent a tux, pay for a ticket and lodging over to the UK? Somewhere it was said Meghan WAS having her dad walk her down the aisle (at least I thought I read or heard it while driving)- was she footing the bill and if so, why wasn't he already there? I don't get it.
* Her mom is negotiating a deal to sit down and talk to Oprah about it all. I don't think for one second that she's doing this for free. Why isn't that being attacked in the same way?
Some people thrive off of this kind of stuff; I hate it. I wouldn't trade places with her or anyone in the spotlight. Nope nope nope.
ITA ..... Reading some of the posts here, you can see that the armchair experts don't bother to think things through. I think it's pretty clear that Meghan's father has been in very poor health, so he might have depleted his financial reserves long ago. Who knows what other motivation there might have been or how he was coerced?
Seems to me that Meghan has had her hands full when dealing with extended family. Brings to mind the saying .... you can pick your family, but you can't pick your relatives!

@Happiness Is Inside JOB See, this is why I don't follow stuff/believe most of what the media puts out about anything. That story came over my phone via a newsgroup. I have YET to see a retraction come across my phone that it's fake. I HAVE seen 3 follow-up stories stating why, when and details about what she'll talk about and how excited Oprah is.
I don't look for this $rap; it's simply what shows on my phone when I open it up to text, check mail, etc. (I have a Windows phone, if that matters).
What a mess.

As for Meghan herself, I have no idea what her actual relationship has been with her father, but I know how I'd feel in her situation. I'd be sad that he had a heart attack and sadder still that he sold his soul for what he called very little money. And then I'd concentrate on my day and my new family.
MS. MILLIE -
You have such a good outlook and attitude. I pray that Meghan is able to move forward. I'm sure after this, his family will become HER FAMILY, she might have no contact with her USA family again.

I'm not a fan but I really feel sorry for Meghan. She's got to be under a lot of stress and pressure, then add to it the antics of her goofy family....I bet the tears are flowing like Niagara. Its all so embarrassing and humiliating for her. The rest of the wedding ought to be a cakewalk.
Her mom seems nice; maybe she can fill in. I bet she's really gotten an earful the past few hours.

Andrew Morton, Princess Diana's biographer who the late princess collaborated with believes she should have invited them. She is inviting many people she doesn't even know.

I just read that, I wanted to believe that it wasn't true. That it was just tabloid fodder. The British tabloids are worst than any that we have. But, just like his older children, he's pond scum. It doesn't matter if his older daughter set it up. He's not a puppet, she's not his master. He did it for the money, knowing full well how much it would hurt and embarrasss Meghan. Now he will never have a relationship with her or her children. All she can do is cut him out of her life and pretend he never existed. All for measly $100K. He was cheap sell out, I'm sure he could have got more than that and perhaps he would have after he sold the details of the wedding, the reception, his introduction to Charles.

Wasn't the photo of her father just him reading a book about the royal family? I fail to see a great deal of harm coming from that. And the poor man had a heart attack six days ago.

That happens in every large wedding .... the groom's family has a list, too. How could Meghan possibly know every one of them?

Ill ??? No one believes that he had heart attack and that's not why he's been banished. He's a lying, money grubbing, dishonerable excuse for human being.
