Medicating my kitty - feeling bad

I have 6 kitties. My oldest is a female applehead Siamese. She and I have a special bond!

She is about 13 (she's a shelter adoption so not sure), and has been healthy. We have recently found out she has hyperthyroidism. This requires medication.

We first tried the transdermal gel applied to her ears. It gave her severe dermatitis. So we have to go to pills.

It has to be twice a day. Now, she is staying away from me. She cringes every time I go near her now.

I know she needs the medication. But, its's sad she feels differently about me now.
