I have a question. Since I will be leaving my Dr and going with another Insurance Company should I tell her?

My last appointment with her is on Dec 18th should I let her know or just don't say anything?

So glad tomorrow is the 7th.  Now we'll have to deal with election ads.  I have an agent that is a Medicare specialist. He advises me, I go in & sit down and it's free of charge.  We only have a few plans available in my area.

Plus all the election calls.

Regarding Advantage Plans, I think it depends on what State you live in.  I have had an Advantage Plan for the last 4 years.  The most I have paid out of pocket is around $200 for the year.  My plan is 0 premium, plus I have dental and vision.  I also get $105 per quarter for over the counter items and $150 per quarter for groceries.  For me it is the best plan.

I live in CA and 3 people I know who've switched from traditional Medicare to an Advantage plan all say it's better coverage and less out of pocket.  NONE of them would ever go back, so there's that.

It must vary widely from state to state.

@Tinkrbl44. Advantage plans vary wildly from plan to plan.  The state doesn't seem to matter.  It's pretty much anything goes.

That's good. I myself wouldn't have an Advantage plan, but if it works for others, that's great.

@SharkE --I have plan N with Mutual of O --and was told it was a good plan for the price--of course it went up this year--kept my dental with them and changed out the prescription drug plan tho. I didn't think there was an overload of commercial this year but "Martha" made me want to scream and hide everytime she showed up!!!

I got Plan G. It's 134 a month now. that's ok.

When my husband died Medicare sent me a bill for the 2 hrs. he was in hospital dying of heart attack.

Bill was 77,000

I never had to pay a penny. Medicare covered it and Plan G took care of the 20%. Praise heaven !!   I'm not

letting loose of Plan G.

Wow, @SharkE  your lucky with plan G 134 a month.  I too have Plan G, in SoFlo was paying 278.00 per moth and going up to 304 next year!

Doesn't matter, I love my Plan G and never letting it go.  We can go to the emergency all day, everyday at no charge.

@wagirl  Hey Pam, hope your well!  My girlfriend has plan N

and it's just about as good as G for a little less money.  More copays, that's about the only difference. Smiley Happy

G and N are the best for those who don't want advantage plans.
