Medicare Question-In Simple Terms

Can someone explain to me the advantage/disadvantage of taking original Medicare with or without a supplement over a Medicare Advantage Plan with Prescription Plan. Or, maybe I should ask if there is an advantage either way. I've read a lot of material, talked to some providers and for the life of me, I'm not sure what's the main difference one from another. So, I need someone to explain to me, in layman's terms, so I can make a decision.
