All this talk of coffee and soda is making me thirsty. I had forgotten Starbucks has cold-brew now. I hear it's really good and I've been wanting to try it.

Trader Joe's has cold-brew in a plastic bottle. It's something like $7.99 for 32 ounces. I just use the drip maker for iced coffee but really want to try the cold brew. I'd make it myself if I wasn't so lazy!

Starbucks cold brew was the worst iced coffee I have ever tasted in my life. I asked some family and friends before I ordered it and was forewarned but I wanted to try it for myself. It was stale, dark roasted and bitter.

That was my experience too, @Trinity11. I love cold brew coffee and made my own for 2 years. I also am a huge TJ's booster. I bought their cold brew as soon as it was out.

Ugh. It was very burnt-bitter like the Starbucks.  So I've had both, the Starbucks & the TJs, and didn't like either.

Making my own was a time-consuming, space-consuming messy adventure, but I was happy with the taste.

unfortunately i discovered Stumptown cold brew at my supermarket, Gelson's  -  it is rich so i can stretch a pint over some time.  a girl likes a special treat every once in a while.

That one I'd like to try. Might be able to find it in Cost Plus or in San Jose.

Senior coffee is 35 cents in my town. It's a small coffee, but to get the 35 cent deal you have to order a senior coffee.I'm sure 35 cents is still good for them as McD throws away a ton of coffee every day.

I tried this awhile back (thought I was getting a fresh cold brew from a cafe and not the bottled stumptown cold brew) and I thought it was so incredibly sweet and gross. I was so disappointed! Do they make one without sugar? Just simply cold brew without anything else?

your starbucks doesnt know how to make it then because it is super smooth and not bitter at all. That is one reason I don't like Starbucks in general-their coffee is terrible and too bitter. But if you get a good starbucks who knows how to make the cold brew right, it is not dark and bitter at all. Even my mom, who likes super sweet coffee and would never ever do coffee without sugar and cream likes the cold brew from starbucks. There are some that make it bad.

when i Google, i see there are a number of variations -  not sure if any are without sugar.  mine comes in a little carton - not a bottle.  i use it more as a coffee drink to replace dessert and pour it over ice.

I don't mind the McDonald's coffe considering the price point.I feel that I paid too much at Starbucks and the quality of the drink varied and sometimes wasn't great.

@151949  I mentioned above in my post that the senior discount is on the small size.  It's 39 cents in my city.  I've learned from road travels how much it varies from McD  to McD - just as the price of an ice cream cone does (as to other menu prices).
