Be thankful you didn't, scottie. The other nic was 'Frank E'. I believe this was in the days of 'Anything Goes' if I recall.

Samira was responsible for a whole new rule on the BBs--that posts had to be in English. (S/he was posting really nasty things in a foreign language. I think "Frank" was the real poster, Samira the persona, but who knows?) Both had their following, though, nasty though they both were.

This place used to be so much fun- no bickering of a thread or complaining about juvenile graphics (using that as a known example)- which were on a graphic thread! What on earth has happened around here? Lord I'd actually laugh out loud, we'd have parties & back & forth over silly stuff but one person, one lone soul would come on board and complain- blah blah blah... Bullies don't like anyone's opinions but their own- well we all have them! Yet no civil conversations are allowed? I said earlier and I'll say it again, something strange is going on on this BB-- innocent selective posts and threads are poofed- do the ones that run this joint not understand humor? No wonder so many of us have left and don't post much anymore-

Oh, now I remember that persona.

I personally like calm in my life. I don't like arguing, it makes me anxious. Not saying I don't have my moments when I flip.
However, I think some of the discussions here are really good. The problem is, a few people like to dish it out, are know- it- alls and can't take it when they get it back. But, it's always been that way.

Hi, DEEP, regarding another thread that I think is now gone (?) on Woodstock, I did miss my one chance to hear Jimi Hendrix play "The Star Spangled Banner."
Amazing. I didn't know then that I wouldn't have too much more time with my mom, so it's a precious memory. We got along perfectly that weekend, cleaning things out and talking about classic movies.

I have to agree....used to be a lot of fun with non-threatening, silly, entertaining, and downright goofy posts about anything from crockpot cooking to wearing moo-moo's to a party. Perhaps now, a new reflection on how much stress everyone is under. However, a sense of humor and laughter can so often be one of the best stress reducers. I rarely post anymore....there's enough stress just by watching the news. It used to be fun here!
