Maxwell jurors described their sex abuse memories but did not declare being abused in questionaire

[ Edited ]

Maxwell jurors described their own memories about sex abuse they endured  but did not declare being abused on Voir Dire questionaire that specifically asked about sexual abuse. Maxwell could get a new trial. These memories were shared with the other jury members  while in deliberations to describe how memories could be very specific about some aspects and very hazy or forgotten about other instances and details.

@Mindy D Those jurors committed a huge NO NO. They should be in all kinds of trouble and how will this affect the verdict?

@Mindy D These jurors are likely the cause for a new trial. When I was on a jury years ago and during Voir Dire it was emphasized repeatedly about what not to do, what not to let us be influenced by, etc. We all took it very seriously.

I hope they get penalized and/or fined in some way. Look at the cost of a new trial alone. Good grief.

Good article in the Insider online. There were two jurors that did not disclose their experiences prior to their selection for the jury. Both discussed their experiences with other jury members.

Just put this title into your search bar.

Here is the title of the article from Insider

Ghislaine Maxwell wants a new trial after juror disclosed that he shared his own experience with sexual abuse during deliberations

Their discussing their experiences during deliberations is as big if not bigger no-no than not disclosing them on voir dire. Jurors need to decide the case on the evidence presented at trial, and not on their own or other jurors' experiences.

Although I do believe she should receive punishment, it is a sad state of affairs that a fair trial did not occur.

It simply points out the level of understanding of many people who get on juries.  That is a sad fact.  If it is ethics, they get on to punish, that is even sadder.

I hadn't heard this yet, I never wanted her to see the light of day again, this is a devastating blow for the prosecution.  Are we certain her brother or a rich involved pedophile hasn't paid her way to freedom?  Nothing surprises me anymore.
