I've never heard of this at all. lol I did just look it up and was reading about the "skirt theory"...very interesting to say the least.

I do like maxi dresses, but I don't wear them myself or any type of dress/skirt for that matter. I like to be comfortable/casual all the time. I've lived in Cuddl Duds fleecewear leggings all winter and I'm actually still wearing them now lol...They are so comfortable and I can wear what I want to work, so I'm thankful. 

I pretty much wear the same get up every single day lol:

- Cuddl Duds leggings (I have like 10 pair)

- Casual short sleeve shirt

- Bearpaw boots

It definitely works for me!

You nailed it @SilleeMee , poly is very cheap to manufacture and it's EVERYWHERE. Why then is it so so expensive in the goods they sell here? And the prices for it just continues to go UP.

@SilleeMee   Sad, isn't it? I'm not buying. Drives me insane when I see shows like all of it that that Graver girl has. She used to dress me when I worked, when all of her things were very reasonable and fashionable for work. Not anymore though, even if I still worked there is no way I could build a wardrobe she has now.

What makes you say they are “so popular?” I haven’t seen a single one out in public. 

I have a few mid calf length dresses that I wear at home but that is all.

@ALRATIBA  Loved the maxi dresses in the early 70's.    Wore them with lace up boots.

Also the hooded maxi coats.  We all looked like Druids.  lol

I love dresses.  I wear them long, short, mid-length, long sleeved, 3/4 lengthed sleeve, short sleeved, and sleeveless.  I buy them in different fabrics and colors (although I love navy blue).  Why so critical of maxi dress?  Not all are created equal.  But they are great if your eating in a cold restaurant.  They allow you to wear a dress to the movies.  Heading to a cook out or chasing kids around?  The maxi dress might be for you.

I've seen young women wearing maxi dresses at walmart in the summer that cover their shoes and it looks like they are wiping up the floor.  I just think of all the dirt and grime they are taking home by cleaning the floor.
