From TMZ:
Matthew Perry died from "the acute effects of ketamine," a drug that is used to treat depression and is also used as a recreational drug.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office just released the toxicology report, concluding Perry had taken ketamine infusion therapy for depression and anxiety a week-and-a-half before his death. The ketamine in his system at the time of his death, however, "could not be from that infusion therapy, since ketamine's half-life is 3 to 4 hours, or less."
According to the Medical Examiner, the ketamine in Perry's system caused both cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression.

I've heard of that therapy. They're showing commercials a lot on my local stations for those clinics.

Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically for induction and maintenance of anesthesia for humans and animals. It is also used as a treatment for depression, a pain management tool, and as a recreational drug.
Ketamine is used by medical practitioners and veterinarians as an anaesthetic. It’s sometimes used illegally by people to get high.
Ketamine is a dissociative drug, which means it causes people to feel separated or detached from their body or physical environment. Dissociatives are similar to psychedelics, they can cause hallucinations and other changes in thoughts, emotions and consciousness.
Why one would use this experimental drug therapy for depression is incomprehensible to me. If Matthew also used it to get high, that's very sad.
May he rest in peace. ❤️

That's one of the drugs used in the movie 'Hustlers' with Jennifer Lopez, based on a true story -
Was a good movie, but the women were using a combination of 'ketamine/mdma' in their clients' drinks to keep them happy and wipe their memory.
Sad that Perry felt it necessary to use this, when he had everything to live for.
RIP

Sad but not surprising- Admittedly, He had problems with addiction his whole adult life. But with all his issues, he managed to do such a amazing and hilarious job creating Chandler Bing- Applause and thanks for the laughs- 💝👏🏼

Wow, I figured they would find something in his system. I did not know what this stuff was so thanks for posting the definition. Very sad, he was obviously struggling most of his life. I personally would not like the feeling of being disassociated from my mind or body. Very sad.

Another sad, but not surprising comment.
You almost knew it was going to be along these lines based on history.
Still, rest in peace, Matt.

He also had Buprenex in his system. With all that money he was alone. He should have had a caretaker.
