I always tip hair stylist and massage therapists 20 percent.  I don't know if that is high or low, it's just what I'm comfortable with.

20% if you are pleased

10% if not

Wow, that is a lot of money for an hour massage.  Is that at a spa?  Our average cost in the Las Vegas area is about $60 (not including hotel spas on the Strip).  I usually tip $10 on a $60 massage.

It all depends on the atmosphere and the site/surroundings what the charges usually are - and how much competition and $$ is in the area.

In So Cal $60-$65 hr massages tend to be in middle-to-low range salons & massage places. No frills, maybe a bit noisy, therapist who may or may not care about what they're doing. There is a lot of competition to keep prices lower but the surroundings are in no way relaxing or plush at that price.

In Nor Cal $60/hr massages are scarce (unless you're talking Chinese foot massage) and run anywhere from $90 to $185 for a 60 min massage in upscale resort areas and resort hotels. You might find a $75 massage at a middling day spa...or not.  Groupon is your friend in this situation.

I tip 20% unless they do a really meh job (then it's 15%); if I'm very pleased I'll do 25%.

A luxery resort massage would be $90 & up. Hawaii rates, $160 for 1 hour massage, again luxery resort pricing. Even at a Nordstrom an hour massage is upward of $90.  $60 for a one hour massage is not much in today's world. Tip depending on how well the treatment was for you.  At least 20%.
