If they're going to be off, I think at most all they have to say on-air would be, "I'll be off for a few days (or weeks, or whatever).  See you soon!"  No explanation is needed.  They're entitled to go on vacation or take care of personal business without making a detailed announcement about it.  IMO they don't have to say anything at all.

We're not entitled to insight into every bit of their personal lives.  We're only entitled to what they choose to share.  They have the right to privacy, and I can't imagine wanting to invade that.

I don't care if the poster is a new member here or not, if I care about the thread, I will post.  We were all "first time" posters at one time, right?  Let's be kind and not try to read any reason in a person's participation here for goodness sake.
