Really? no need for snark
Reported in error on a cable channel. This is the Globe's version.
While the deal is finalized, under the terms of the agreement, Arthur T. will work alongside Felicia Thornton and James Gooch, the co-chief executives who were hired by his cousin to replace him but were demonized by many employees. Arthur T. will have full operational control of the company, however.
Even though it avoided that drastic step, many challenges await the reborn company. Newly encumbered with debt, it remains an open question whether Market Basket can successfully reboot its low-margin, high-volume business model — not to mention its generous profit-sharing plan.

I am in the Boston area, and stuck to the side of the workers. This is a great store, old school in ways. While it can be a little bit of hassle inside with people running their carts into you because the place is jammed like the day before Christmas, it is well worth it. LOL. They have people who bag groceries separate from the cashier at every aisle, they have people to help you if need assistance to take out your groceries (and unload them for you) and they actually have people bring the carts in and not leave them out all day/weeks. And most importantly, their staff is actually FRIENDLY! That alone is a very rare quality in most any business, especially when you are in metropolitan areas that are brimming with rudeness. Welcome back Market Basket!!
The CEO's are NOT gone, per the Boston Globe they are staying on until the sale is final which could take months.

Moonstone, I am very sorry and apologize. I shouldn't have been so snarky to you. I've been fighting with my health insurance over a bill this morning and it got the best of me. Anyway, no excuse.
Please accept my heartfelt apology.

I feel your pain, insurance cos s*ck. My health insurance is still trying to overbill my premium by $300. They're robbing Peter to pay Pablo.

Nice to see the good guys win every once in a while.
I can now go back to my favorite store. It has been an expensive 6 weeks shopping elsewhere. Bye Bye Shaws!

I didn't even know there still was a Market Basket. It left where I lived in California over 30 years ago.
