You know, I have never been a fan of their music, even from way back, but for the life of me I do not understand the extreme vitriol some people hurl at that family. What horrible thing have they ever done to warrant such dislike? I just don't get it.

There are a few families and individuals who get extreme vitriol from SOME people here and I'll never get any of it. Why so hateful?

I guess some folks might not like themselves very much so they feel compelled to manifest that upon others. I've known a couple of people like that. My own so-called mother was like that. It just makes you feel badly for them I suppose.

So true. I wish those who cut her down realize how much she has done for children's hospitals all over the country with her Children's Miracle Network. Her family has provided healthcare and financial assistance to many needy families. They give of themselves and visit hospitals all year long. You might not like their music or whatever. They have lasted this long in the entertainment world for a reason. They have never spewed hatred or cut people down.

I met Marie back in the 80's when she came with her family for a 4th of July show to AZ. I wrote a proclaimation with the mayor and made it Osmond Day in our town. Marie was so gracious and kind to me when we presented her with the plaque. She didn't act like a celebrity and treated me with respect and kindness. She thanked me and appreciated it very much. I have never forgotten that moment in my life.

Marie has had a lot of sorrow in her life. She lost her son and the fact that she gets out of bed in the morning and tries to live her life....I think she is a very strong woman.

I have always thought she was a very pretty woman. She still is no matter her weight. She was lovely fifty pounds ago and she is lovely now.

I guess you could say I have always liked Marie.
