Hello all - it's too early for me to handle a 95 degree day Freddie, but thanks for the invitation LOL.
I noticed this silver bracelet online at the Q today - Noah's Ark - hmm, that has me written all over it. I hope they don't present it until later, when I am home from work.

The bird of the day is the European Honey Buzzard. At first I thought - wait, that's a hawk. I've learned the new world name is hawk and old world name is buzzard. Either way, the name for this one is Honey Buzzard. And the experts wonder why I don't remember the bird names. All of this old world versus new world terminology will keep me studying birds until I take my last breath.

Bird mama, did you get the Noah's Ark bracelet? What a beautiful bird of the day.
Wishing all our birding friends a peaceful night.

Rats!!!!! I just sat and typed a pretty long post and hit the wrong thingy and naturally I lost the post. Double rats!!!'

The above photo is from today, the youngest owlet displaying the threat posture atsomecrows or other intruders. The older owlet left the nest yesterday and spent the night in a neighboring pine tree. It spent most of the day there, but is now back in the nest and the two babies are cuddling. I am glad as I felt so bad for the littlest one being all alone in that big nest. Mama and Papa roost nearby though and did bring food, a Gallinule, today.
Birdmama, I was wondering also if you bought the Noah's Ark bracelet. It sure is pretty. I love bracelets like that, that have special meanings for their owners. DDIL has a beautiful sea critter bracelet that DS gave her. It has seahorses, conch shells, starfish, scallop shells etc.on it. They went snorkeling today at Garden Key in the Dry Tortugas, where Fort Jefferson is. It can only be reached by seaplane or boat. They took the boat from Key West. She was hoping to see a seahorse, but didn't.
Will try to reconstruct thelostpost tomorrow, but for now will say Nighty Night to all Birding Friends. Sweet dreams and have a lovely Friday.
Below is a photo of the oldest owlet in the neighboring pine tree, taken this morning.

Hi everyone - hope all had a great day. It was super H O T today - more tomorrow.
Kitties were outside but i brought them back in about 4 - they were not suffering but the heat is such a change for them -- they go back outside again tomorrow. They do not have it bad in that big dog kennel - LOL - that was turned into a cat condo. Litter box, fresh food and good water all in the shade of beautiful blooming jasmine bushes - not a bad life. And with them outside it gives Conrad and Miss Blackie a bit of time to feel as if they are running the house again.
Got a perm today - do hope it holds.
Lawn being sprinkled = first time since October. If the heat continues will water once a week - that makes me soo sad but will not be able to afford any more than that due to the high and extra fees PLUS increase in rates PLUS not being able to cut back 20 percent. Just dumb.
Hope your evening went well and that tomorrow will be a good one.

Hello all -
Puddles and Possum - I didn't buy the bracelet as they never presented it on air. Another poster mentioned that Noah's Ark bracelets are everywhere so I may check out others online. A duck couple started visiting my yard on Wednesday night, I don't know if they are Fred and Ethel from last year. Apparently I am mouse friendly, squirrel friendly, bird and duck friendly and raccoon friendly. I thought the Noah's Ark bracelet would fit me because I'm pretty sure that if I lived near elephants and giraffes and lions and bears, I would probably see them in my yard every now and again
Freddie - I heard on my local news radio station last week that CA was implementing even tougher water restrictions. The first person I thought of was you when I heard that. I thought, geez, how much more can Freddie cut back.

The bird of the day is the Willow Ptarmigan (part of the pheasant family)
