Wow he survived that fall into that crevice!!! He took a video of above and below himself, while in the crevice. Oh my gosh!!! I couldn't do that, or go to the edge of a volcano to look in.
Have you ever done anything remotely close to that? Bungee jumping even? LOL

HECK NO! Even though I am fascinated by Mt. Everest and I have read and watched a lot of what is out there, I have absolutely no desire to climb it or walk around near any of it's friends and neighbors. Crevasses are the things of nightmares and mountains are best observed from afar for me.

I too think it was really stupid, to do the hiking by himself in such undiscovered area of then world, i mean quiet part of the world, where we don't know what is there. he was lucky, but glad we didn't have to dispense others to put their lives in danger to rescue him, as that always gets me.

No, I value LIFE too much to ever do risky things. I do not admire anyone who takes such risks... I think it is just a sign of stupidity.....

Two of my clients (lawyers) attempted to climb Mt. Everest.
It cost well over $100,000...they trained for a year.
Then the weather turned bad and one got sick and was stuck on the side of the mountain for days.
They are going to try again!
I would never want to do that...a trip around the world, yes....Mt. Everest, NO.

You must never cross the street on foot then.

You have to admire their determination. I guess they didn't feel that they got their money's worth the first time. I think if I wasn't successful the first time and I was stuck on the mountain I'd feel that I wasn't meant to climb the mountain.
There is a something about Everest, though I'd never attempt to climb it, but I do find it fascinating to read about people's adventures there. I remember reading the book "Into Thin Air" about the disaster when all those climbers lost their lives. People were injured and killed, yet some still wanted to reach the peak.
